This Absinthe Spoon is to ensure that your absinthe is always drunk in the right way as part of the “absinthe ritual”. As most absinthes are a little bitter, they benefit from the addition of something sweet like sugar. The classic French absinthe ritual therefore involves placing a sugar cube on the flat perforated part of the absinthe spoon (pictured here) which is placed on the rim of the Absinthe glass in which a measure of Absinthe has been poured. Iced water is then gently poured over the sugar cube, thereby dissolving it into the Absinthe in the glass, and as the water and sugar drip into the glass, the green liquid turns a milky colour. Xenta Absinthe is made in Italy and has a well balanced mix of star anise and wormwood in its blend.
